Reformulation also features 40% smaller wafers and new, improved flavor
New York, NY – December 15, 2010 – Today Twinlab unveiled a reformulation of the brand’s best-selling Calcium Citrate Chewable Wafers with Magnesium & Vitamin D3. The update comes in response to compounding research suggesting the benefits of higher Vitamin D intake, and in tandem with The National Academy of Sciences’ recent decision to raise the dietary reference intake (DRI) for Vitamin D.
The reformulation doubles the supplement’s Vitamin D3 content from 400 IU to 800 IU (per adult serving) to help support optimum calcium absorption, while keeping the calcium and magnesium content the same, at 1000 mg and 500 mg, respectively. The updated wafers – now 40% smaller than before – also feature a new and improved citrus flavor, and while they still come packaged in a glass bottle to maintain maximum stability and freshness, they now come in a smaller bottle.
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body, and 99% of it is stored in the bones and teeth, where it helps to provide structural support.* The body uses Vitamin D to help absorb the calcium you consume, while magnesium helps to support strong bones, and optimal levels of this important mineral can help support calcium metabolism in the body.*
“Twinlab has been at the forefront of the supplement industry for decades, and the only way to do that successfully is to keep up with and respond to current research and consumer demands,” says Kristina Kulin, in Twinlab’s Marketing Department. “Usually that means introducing new products, but in this case we’ve taken a best seller and made it even better at no additional cost to consumers.”
Available nationwide, the new Calcium Citrate Chewable Wafers begin shipping this month and will carry the original suggested retail price of $18.89.
